The Arena

The Arena is the place for all day entertainment.

Fashion Shows, dance shows, concerts, and its also where you will find the local Firemen from Lagoa who thrill the kids (of all ages) with a wires slide, or let them see how they can put out a fire (safely!).

There are eleven restaurants and some cafes.

It's the area to sit down, relax with a cold beer, tea, or even a meal, and just enjoy being entertained.

It is now the leading annual Dog Show in the Algarve region. The Dog Show is organised by Paws4Pets (click here to visit their site) with a lot of support and help from local animal charities, vets, and many local companies.

Entertainment

Entertainment goes on in the Arena all day, and often until after the show officially closes.

Exhibitors like to relax with a meal and a concert.

Visitors like to join them. What's on the programme for each day varies from fashion shows, dance demonstrations, choirs, groups and soloists.

The final programme for each year is announced in The Portugal News in a special feature prior to the event, but you can always be sure that whatever time of day, there is something to sit back and enjoy.

On Saturday night the Arena stays open for visitors and exhibitors to enjoy a meal and entertainment.

Restaurants

The restaurant area is within the Arena and has eleven full restaurants available plus two snack bars or drink outlets.

The restaurants are equipped with a large kitchen area, but no cooking equipment.

This must be supplied by exhibitors. Each restaurant has a serving area and a shaded seating area, plus space for extra tables, chairs and umbrellas.

A wide variety of food is available from South African Barbecue, Indian Curries. Cream teas, Piri Piri Chicken etc. The variety of food on offer changes each year, but this is always a very popular area to sit and enjoy the entertainment and a meal or snack.

On Saturday night the Arena stays open later for visitors and exhibitors to enjoy a meal and entertainment.

Children

Keeping the children happy is as important to us as it is to you.

If they have fun, then we know you will.

Our research has shown that families stay on average 4.5 hours at the Fair.

Childrens activities are spread throughout the showground, clowns, juggling and face painting on the lawn, bouncy castles in the Arena, giants wandering throughout the Fair, the Firemen in the Arena and needless to say, they love the dog show.
